its kinda funny that I could tell before this thread who the older members were because they are mature and helpful

I'm 21 but I think I fit in best with the older members
I had just turned 18 when I got my first fd and now with this one I wish I was older so I could have multiple cars and keep this one as a collectible.

Got the FD 3 weeks after turning 40.
That was 6 years ago.
Having lots of greasy handed fun under the hood...just like when I was a musclecar teenager.

My take on that would be you only have too much time until you're old enough to realize how much you have left to do in life and how little time you really have left. That change overlays nicely with the immortality perception younger people have. I bought my 93 in 93 at the the tender age of 22. It's amazing I didn't get into more trouble than I did at that age with such a car after I made it a little faster.

But not old or experienced enough to know how ignorant you sound when you stereotype people like that.

Perhaps you're just too young to understand how often stereotypes are accurate, which is why they exist in the first place...

This is a great thread. I didnt realize that there were as many "older" forum members. I guess a car like the FD makes everyone feel and seem younger. I am new to the FD scene and I hope I still own one when I turn 35. Which is still 14 years away. The FD will be a classic by then. I think it already is though. Take it easy.

While I didn't have a car that fast back then, I bought an '87 Sport in 1990, I still wonder how I didn't kill myself in it. Isn't hindsight wonderful.

Wow i'm really shocked how many of our members are over 30! Though i know lots of people own these cars, i'm shocked that most of the people i post with are of that age group... though its of no bother since most of my friends are 30+..

I'll speak for 2 of my friends with FDs, Jack who's in his 40s, and Tom who is in his 60s! 2 of the coolest guys i know!

btw i'm 23 in march.

Back in '93, the "Fast and the Furious" kiddies were still in soggy Pamperz and obviously couldn't afford the FD - it was typically in the low to mid-30's off the lot. Who/what were the sales demographics? Eleven years ago never happened.... Why should anyone give up a good thing and be resigned to Corvettes, Porsches, or that "Corvette Cadillac"? And besides, how old were the old farts when they designed the FD? Or the engine? Pass the Correctol.
