Hi all

Today, i put a lot of parts together, my vacuum hoses rebuild is near finished, but i have a few questions:



I guess i have to change the "water reservoir" ( dunno the english word for ) from the underside of the mazda? Problem is it has a leak.



This temperature sensor has a small leak. I mean i worked on the car for about 1-2 weeks the last time, today i checked with my finger the sensor and felt some coolant fluid. As you can see, the wire has been gone off - i think i can fix that, but can i change the temperature sensor or do i have to change the whole metal part with the temperature sensor included?



Last question, when im standing on the front left of the car, i can see a losen wire down there ( golden one with the black/red wire ). This cable is placed under the intake knee before the throttle body. Has someone an idea where to put that on?

1) replace the coolant resevoir by removing the tire and the wheel liner to gain access to it.

2)The sensor itself can be changed. Its threaded into the thermostat housing.

3) Looks like it goes to the coolant temp sensor which is hidden under the oil filter near the oil pressure sensor

That last wire goes to the AC compressor clutch.



The sensor is a coolant level sensor, if you have to replace it you'll love the price.

Malloy mazda, ask for Ray Crowe (do a search on here and you can find the phone number.). I am pretty sure he ships overseas as well and he will be your cheapest option for the sensor.

I agree with Tom, number 3 goes to the Air Conditioning Compressor. Be careful when dealing with that wire because if you pull too hard on one end the other end is attached to the starter and that will come off.

So, news now.

Everytime when i start the engine, the "beeeeep" starts to tell me my coolant lvl is bad. So i filled some coolant and it ran out near the coolant reservoir.

Yesterday, i checked it.
On the first picture, you see the "pipe" to refill the coolant - if you follow that pipe you will come to the reservoir.
On the top of the reservoir, lets say a few centimeters beside the "pipe", there is a small hole with a black rubber gasket. The coolant goes out there, it looks like something is missing there, maybe some hose??

I also checked the repair manual but couldnt find a description of the coolant reservoir and all parts, which fits to the reservoir.

Another update after some research:

I guess this is the coolant reservoir on the picture. There is a black hose to see, is this the part im missing? To which part goes the black hose?
Maybe i can find the hose, maybe its gone off?

The hole in the neck of the coolant overflow tank is a vent hole. It's suppose to be there. If you overfill the coolant, it will spill out of that hole. When you say you are adding coolant, are you adding it here:

I have a bunch of those coolant level sensors. However, I bought a new one from Malloy not long ago and I think it was about $30.00. I cant remember exactly but it wasnt outrageous.

Ok, im still working on the coolant lvl sensor because the plastic is still in there ( but i will take a left-screw, put that in and i hope that i will get the plastic out there ).

My new questions:

Near the black/red cable from the A/C sensor are two other cables:
- a brown one with white stripes and a black plastic connector on the end
- black one with white stripes, it looks like its coming from under the powersteering reservoir ( i guess it is it, in driving direction front left a little bit after the intake elbow )

Am i right that the brown/white and black/white will fit together via a plastic connector?

Last question:
My car wont crank, so i read many threads a few time. Can you tell me the parts number for the clutch switch ( relay?) ) and the security relay? I have a right side drive JDM FD3S and i only found one black relay with the number B481 67 7COB ( if this is one of the two relays, where is the other one hided? ).

So, update-time!

Today, i connected the correct cable (brown/white with black plasticconnector ) to the coolant lvl sensor. At first, the alert still continued, but after i cleaned the connector itself, the alert was over, hurray!!!

Damn thing, i doesnt have the pictures online, so you could see them again.

So i have only 3 broken wires left.
Badddrx7 told me that one of them is the AC clutch cable, i guess it has normally a white plastic connector on it? If yes, then i found the missing wire with the second white plastic connector.

Then there is only one wire left, it goes from the oil temperature sensor away, is shielded? ( or is it only a safety hose around it? It has a black wire, i guess the counterpart is a blue wire with red small stripes on it? If yes, i would be very happy because all broken wires has been connected again.

I dont want to try to connect the cables without knowing, i would not destroy anything else :-)
