I run it year round in all my vehicles and also put it into rebuilds that I install. It offers better protection at high (oil) temps, which the rotary generates a lot of. IT is also a bit of an old school trick to run thicker oil in engines that burn oil/smoke, to keep the smoke down, and I like the idea of that in a turbo rotary as well.

Thanx for the info everyone, i switched from 10w30 because although i'm in buffalo,ny , i only drive it during the summer which actually average in the 80's. When i changed the oil when i was running 10w30 it came out like water after 2000 miles. I have just heard that it is bad for the seals to run 20w50 but i would guess just in cold temps. I do have an oil leak which actually sparked this thread, but it is coming from the oilpan gasket. So in the end all is well and i thank those who participated.
