20b sequential twins

I searched and am not able to come up with much information.

I was "told" that the 20b has the same twin sequential set up as the 16b. Can someone confirm this information?

Also, where can I find more information on how the sequential system work on the 20b? Unlike the FDs, I can find as much info as possible since I own a shop and i get all the manuals in my disposal.

Thanks all!

Same, no. Similar, yes.

20b seq-twins:

More info on the turbos + BNR's upgraded version of them here:

And here's the 20b "brick" manifold:

Theorie, thank you for the info.

Let me rephrase my question:

Are the control (solenoid system) for the 20b the same as the 13b? I have guys oversea asking me if I can make a custom solenoid system for their 20b. However, if the 20b electronic control is the same as the 13b, then I can just sell them my current set up.

Thanks all!

Ah it was worth a try. I would maybe head over to the Aussie or Kiwi forums and check out the Cosmo section. Maybe they have more info since there seem to be a lot more of them over there than in the US.

No, thank you very much for helping. I was scratching my head since I couldnt get any info on it due to it's a production only other country has it.

I think they use the same type of system for control. The 20b twins are just smaller to make more torque.

Is there a source where I can confirm this? I heard that from someone they are the "same" and have no solid proof or a resource to really clarify this issue.

Thanks in advance!

The 20B system was developed first and adapted to the Cosmo 13B and then the FD 13B. They all use

1) charge control valve
2) charge relief valve
3) turbo control valve
4) turbo precontrol valve
5) wastegate valve

I am 100% on that. I'm about 95% sure that the solenoids controlling these systems are the same but I have never dug into a 20B Cosmo with stock twins before, and all the service manuals are Japanese.

PM me your email address and I will send you some stuff.
