Smile 20.9 mpg!

Strange...
Today I checked my mileage after my run to my girlfriend's house. I took it a LITTLE easier, not much but I yielded almost 21 mpg. Last week I got 17, but I was averaging 81 mph then. This week I dropped it down to about a 76 mph average, AND it was very cool, about 40 degrees or so.
It seems like the more miles I get on my car (it turned over 90K this trip) the better mileage it gets!

Typical highway mileage for me is 21-23mpg. That is cruising around 75-80mph with an ocassional on-ramp burst to 100mph (close course, professional driver).

In town I'm always putting my foot in it so I only get 11-13mpg.

I used to drive from Kansas City to St. Louis all the time and I noticed that I did get better gas milage at 75 with the cruise set then at 80.

On a ~300 mile trip, I got ~22mpg on my newly rebuilt motor/turbos w/ 1k miles on 'em (from San Diego to San Luis Obispo w/ traffic and occasional bursts of speed). I think once I get a few more thousand miles out of it, I should get much better mileage.

I get an average of 17 mpg in both city and highway. I drive about 15 highway miles to work and back everyday, and much less city driving than that. So maybe.. 20 highway, 13-14 city?

Bajaman drives an AUTO fd and they typically get 2-3 mpg worse than a 5spd. The best I ever get w/ my Auto fd is 19-20 mpg on the hwy w/ the cruise control set @75. My overall average is 15-17mpg depending on the city/rural/Hwy mix.
At the track my milage drops to the 9-10 mpg range.

ps my Dakota averages 19+ city/rural/Hwy mixed & 22+ on the hwy.
my MBZ NEVER gets any better than 14mpg (11-12 avg).

I just looked at the window sticker that came on the car, it does say 18 city, 24 highway, so I guess my mileage is right on. I just haven't seen it get that good before is all.
