Did you look for the air bag fuse? He might have meant that. It's in the joint fuse box in the driver's footwell. Note the air bag system gets fused at the air bag AND engine fuses, in parallel. It probably wouldn't have prevented the air bag from deploying... Less likely is he pulled the connector for the bag at the steering wheel. If the fuse is ok, READ THE MANUAL on how to pull the steering wheel bag, but basically its pull the fuses and undo the screws on the back of the wheel. Note that the bag can still deploy. I say read the manual to cover my *** in case you get injured checking things out. I HATE air bage pointed at my chest... like a loaded gun. Yeah it saves lives, also takes some.

I think the manual also gives a discussion on the steering effort.

There is a harness in the engine bay on the passengers side right by the ABS unit. I believe they are blue in color (its near the passengers side fender). The second question is how many times does it flash? Count the number of times and it will tell you what is wrong with it. Mine is doing the same thing and it tells me that the crash sensor in the front of the car need to be replaced ($680). But I tracked it down to the wiring harness by the ABS unit. Good luck.

Manual. go to http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/

You know, I just looked through their manuals, and I'm not seeing the section where you would be able to diagnose problems like these. So a real manual might be needed here...

That's what mine does. I just don't have the patience to track down a faulty connection. Maybe someday.

NOTE!! Don't unplug the airbag light, then the thing friggen beeps instead of blinking. Believe me, the blinking is much better.

As far as the power steering, if you can turn the wheels while stopped, it's probably fine. If not working you can turn the wheels while stopped only if you work out regularly .
