2 oil questions......

I have already posted threads about my check engine light coming on, and throwing an oil position sensor code. My question is.... where is the oil pump position sensor located? I would hate to replace the oil pump if its only the sensor thats bad, which is why I wanna test it first to verify, thanks

As I mentioned in the other thread, there is the oil pump itself which has no sensors or anything. Its mechanic and driven off the e-shaft. The ECU would be the last thing on th planet to know if there was a problem with that.

Then there is the metering oil pump which has the sensors and lines which run the injection nozzles on the rotor housing (under the solenoid rack) It is attached to the front cover on the passenger side (LHD car) just above the oil pan. If you are getting a OMP code, this is where its coming from.

If one goes bad, you replace all three. The wiring to the MOP/OMP connects just under the intake elbow and is pretty easy to get to. There you can check for proper voltage, resistance etc.
