2 bov's

has anyone ever tried using 2 blow off valves .... one on the intercooler piping and one from the bov hose?? Is there any upside or downside to doing this...

Downside: you bought two blowoff valves you didn't need.

Upside: you can impress ricers.

those two things that you think are the stock BOV only one is. the other is the CRV that lets out overpressurized air in the Seq. system. while the other is the ARV which is the stock BOV. so only one sould be used.

no im pretty sure he means he's welding on a BOV flange and attaching a bov to an aftermarket intercooler setup like a greddy two row and just keeping the bov in the stock location as well.

I installed 2 BOV, I wanted to make sure I avoided boost surge......I'm sure one bigger BOV would do the job, but just thought 2 looked better, and no I didn't do it to have a louder BOV, it actually sounds like one.......So **** ALL YOU HATERS!!!

I have two. Was going to drop the stock one, but Cam said why. It doesn't hurt to have it here so leave it. Never know when one of them will fail so I left it. Cooks rice well !! !

Based on the rest of your mods, I think its fairly obvious that you're not walking that ricer line. The CIA looks great, how significant has it been to your intake temps?

Thanks Shinobi-X.......Its been awhile since I drove my FD (I'm away at school) But last I remember after getting my PFC tuned at Ground Zero Motorsports in Portland, on the drive home (at night) my PFC was reading 11C-13C the whole way home. Day time I think it was 18C-20C.

Heres the thread about it: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...6&page=1&pp=15

I remember seeing a thread about it earlier in the year, but never got the chance to follow up on how effective it was. Those are nice temps- I'm wondering how much the intercooler plays a part in that (and how your water temps are). You seem to have a good amount of area for it with that front end. Also, do you remember (approximately) what the air temps were outside during those drives?

So as not to hijack the thread, if you want to shoot me a PM, it would be fine too.

garco motorworks runs two hks ss bovs on his. . . i guess he figured no chances would be taken. . . or just wanted to spend more money. i think it actually made it quieter. the theory is that more vent allows the turbos to stay spooled longer. . . thats why he put one on the greddy elbow (duh) and one on the y-pipe. . . who knows.
