Newbie Questions: Considering Buying an RX7
Hi, I'm considering going into the RX7 community. I'm just doing my research before I go shopping. Right now I have a Forester XT that needs to be replaced. It has a full on ej25T dynoing 280awhp and 300awtq with another $4000 invested in suspension. I need a car that can compete with my 12.5 1/4 XT. I understand RX7s are very good at autox but It just puts too much stress on the car and I need to use it as a daily driver also. I'm looking mainly for straight line performance.
My questions:
1. Are RX7s capable of doing wheelies? The infamous muscle car launch where the front end lifts up in the air?
2. Are there any good/reputable RX7 tuning/performance shops in the Bay Area California?
3. About how much money invested in the car will get me into the 11s?
Thanks,
Matt

Drive to the unknown.
ok, I'm going to get this out to you before the real big guns hit you.... brace your self and get on your nomex kit....
answers to your questions....
1.) You're an idiot -Rx-7's are ment for roadrace track use, not popping wheelies, buy a bmx
2.) Search, butt loads of information, plus, read the stickies, that is what they are there for.
3.) If you're asking this, good chance you can't afford it, sell the car and buy a bmx....
the others could be worse!!!

READ THE FRICKING FAQ THREAD. It's at the top. We get this question EVERY DAMN DAY.
How much sense does it make to think that auto-x is too hard on a car but WOT street or highway runs aren't?

What is it with people who expect other people to hold their hand and do everything for them? Yes the forum is here for asking questions and getting answers, but doing some of your own legwork, e.g. using the search feature, is the mark of a classy, considerate, and more-intelligent type of person.
