1st Time Dyno Tuning

I am planning to dyno tune my car. It has most of the bold-on stuff, stock motor, and PFS PMS w/ stock twin. You guys have any tips on tuning it? IE: desired fuel ratio, what gear to run it at, etc.

Thanks.

You will want to do the dyno run in 4th gear, at that is a 1:1 ratio.

You should shoot for a A:F ratio of around 11.5 or so. 12 would be the max and probably not safe. There are also ignition timing issues but I'm not sure what's adjustable on the PFS chip.

I agree, try to get a consistant 11.5:1 airfuel ratio

I think that you should do a pull in 2nd first just so there is less load on the engine, then go to 3rd, then 4th. Go slow because you can do lots of dyno pulls as long as you don't pop your engine by running too lean.

good luck

His motor just went *POP* this past weekend. Also PFS tuned it, not saying he does not know how but I know Peter Ferrell tuned his car the other week.

I had a motor with a PMS tuned by PF that popped in December. My new street ported, 3mm apex seal motor now runs a Power FC.
