1994 Touring

I've come across a 7 I may buy. It's a Montigo Blue 1994 touring, and it has 51,000 miles on it. He wants $14,500. The boost is at 10lbs, and the compression is good he says(waiting on the exact numbers). What do you guys think?

I think $14,500 is on the lower end for a 94 with 51k mileage..+18k is more reasonable..so I would suggest that you look at everything closely before moving ahead..

For a '93 that is almost OK..

if it's not a salvage, and everything checks out mechanically (get it checked, for the love of god, get it checked ), it's deffinitely worth it. I'd jump all over it.

just make sure you read up on the upkeep of the turbo rotary... it ain't no Honda - it takes a lot of TLC to keep it on the road. Think one step above MG (well, maybe not *quite* that bad).

My Deal

Just bought a 94 yesterday, Montego blue, excellent shape, for 14K even.....67,500 miles....... had it checked out by Mazda and it all checked out great......I had no choice since it was out of town and I didn't know any mechanics in that area........ jumped on a plane for $73 and took the guy a check.......... hope all goes well with mine........ best of luck with yours........... by the way mine was a base, not touring, but had leather, the sunroof, the rear spoiler, etc. ........... the only thing it lacked was the Bose stereo, but the guy had a pretty decent Kenwood installed with a 10 disc changer ...................

You got a PEP model, not a base model. Base models cold have leather but not sunroofs. If it had a glass sunroof and the bose, then it would've been a Touring/PEG

PEP model info

Thanks for the info.......... I know I had read somewhere about the PEP's, but didn't quite know what the specific differences. I knew I wanted the leather (tan), the sunroof, and the spoiler, and whether or not it had the BOSE was secondary (I say that not having heard one - I'm sure they're awesome systesm. That also straightens me out regarding the glass sunroof. Was lookin through the owners manual and saw something about removing the panel on the inside to achieve the moonroof........ then thought that made no sense since my outside of the sunroof is painted Montego Blue as well. Oh, well, I can live with it............ the car is a dream (if only my wife could understand!!!!)...............Thanks again............:p :p
