I'm looking at buying a 94 FD...it has cruise control, fog lights, sun roof but no rear wiper. I thought all of the Tourings had a rear wiper and the Base package had no sunroof....am I wrong here?

It sounds like it is neither Touring nor Base (nor R-2 for that matter).

It is probably what is known as the Popular Equipment Package which added to the base model a cargo cover, leather, sunroof (a metal panel, as opposed to a moonroof which is a glass panel). Not sure how the fog lights got in the mix. My 1994 brochure says those are on the touring model only.

Everything but the R-2 had cruise control.

 

At this point, many FD's have been modified from their original state. Others may have been spec'd uniquely from the dealership. The classification is less important than the reality.

 

The 1994 base had cruise control but no fog lights, no rear wiper, and no sun/moon roof. It also had cloth seats and an AM/FM/Cassette. Cargo cover was optional.

 

Most likely a PEP, GT comes with glass roof I believe.

 

I haven't see one with rear wiper yet... I think 93 doesn't come with it

 

apart from accessories this would be extremely rare.

all touring models have a rear wiper, 93-95

 

if it has no rear wiper , The rear hatch might of been swapped , Do you have the R2 wing on it ?

My car was a touring , But the PO swapped the rear hatch for an R1 hatch with no wiper , But with the R1 wing on it .

 

My car is a 94 PEG. It has has leather, cruise & sunroof. No Bose, no rear wiper, no fog lamps, no rear spoiler.

This problem could be resolved VERY easily take the VIN , and call mazda they will let you know what the car came with originally
