1993 R1 Review - Regular Car Reviews via Jalopnik

Jalopnik picked up the RegularCarReview of my '93.

Note: in case you aren't familiar with Regular Car Reviews, it's a comedic version of a car review put on with a fairly low budget. He is fairly popular with the 20 to 30 crowd; but some of his references get lost on those older. I can personally attest he is a super human being, a true blue car enthusiast, (who drives a stick shift Fit) but the voiceover might not be for everybody. Fair warning NSFW language.

Lots of people view his reviews on YouTube, and he's regularly picked up by Jalopnik.

I hope you can enjoy some of the humor! Either way my car came out looking great I think.

Awesome. But tell us more about it. How did you end up getting picked for a review for instance...

Thanks for all the feedback! I actually contacted Mr. Regular Car (not sure if he wants his name revealed) via a FB message since if been a fan for a long time. I noticed through his videos that he films a lot of what he does throughout eastern PA (where I live) I think my initial message was along the lines of "Let me know if your interested in driving an Rx7 FD, I'm local." And it took off from there!

We met up on the weekend at a Cabellas parking lot. The filming was done all by Mr. R and a friend with an S13 that had joined for the day to help by driving while he films. We took a few different shots throughout the day some on the road, and at some parks, all with a GoPro4 and "DSLR style" camera. All I did was drive and occasionally talk about the car. Since it started raining about half way into the shoot, we decided to stop and pickup next weekend. The truly detail focused of you might see that I have no front emblem and the original '93 rear emblem in certain shots, whereas in others I have Red Efini emblems front and rear 👍 I stuck them on before the beginning of the second weekend.

Had a great time all around. Big THANK YOU to Dave and the folks at Speed1 for all the work they've put into the car along the way.

I actually liked the review. I like how they characterized us, the community as well. The sound effects and stuff were plain stupid but what can you do

I was also wondering if the car belonged to a forum members and here it is. Nice car. Btw, I did pick up on the missing emblems.

congrats on the vid man!

despite all the ridiculous references, it was done respectably and he summarized things well at the end. the RX-7 definitely is for the devoted.

p.s. good choice of mods on the car

Its hard to watch at the beginning but then it picks up and i actually liked how he talked and represented the 7 as a cult. "...or run Linux on every single one of your home computers without a back up os...you do it because its hard" hahaha, I love it!!!
