I'll be honest, I'm not going to ever use one of these intercoolers, therefore will never use one of the air dams. However, just out of curiosity, I'd like to see how it looks installed. That is, the actual one you made.

Interested, depending on the price and the shipping costs to France...

But for sure it is THE missing part of the XS POWER ICs

Still waiting on Shine. I will try to take a pic tonight. I have the TurboJeff Battery tray as well, and a Greddy elbow. Not sure of fittment without those 2. It may be fine or not, I don't know. But I could take measurements.

Can you measure from some reference point on the drivers side to the side of the duct, I would like to see how well this will fit because I have custom IC piping that doesn't place it exactly where the ones that it came with did.

Don't think it is going to happen guys. Last I heard from them, they were interested in making them for me, and I sell them. I am not looking to get rich off this, so I really don't want that hassle. I was trying to provide a mold for them to make the duct and they could sell them as much as they would like. I have not heard back from them since then.

Hokay, well we can still turn this in to a positive, do you have any plans, schematics, or patterns that you can scan so we can fab them ourselves?

EDIT: Oh, and pictures, do we have any?

Actually, I have yet to see any evidence on the performance of the eBay IC - let alone 'proof'. Did I miss some posts? (BTW, intake temperatures during highway cruising mean diddly.)

Is there no chance at all of going for it?

There's just so much interest...

Dear god, I'm not even going to debate this with you. Let's continue to let the ignorance flow on this board.

ignorance

noun. the lack of knowledge or education

Please supply me with the knowledge about the performance tests of this intercooler so that I will no longer be ignorant.

Forgive me for intruding on your e-fight but doesn't Corky Bell's book say that size, location, and ducting are all more important than core design?

This copy and paste from the Bell Intercooler faq here:
http://www.bellintercoolers.com/page...FAQ.html#FAQ_8

Does one style core cool better than another?

No, almost no difference. With three decades of testing intercooler’s, we have found no appreciable difference between any core style or manufacturer. Keep in mind, that the merit of a core is it’s efficiency versus its internal drag characteristics. When sized for a tolerable flow loss, virtually all cores will produce essentially the same efficiency results. Perhaps a core with slightly less flow area per linear inch, or one with longer tubes, will need perhaps 5% more tubes to equal the best of intercooler’s with regard to flow loss and efficiency. Not a very important difference.
The data I have seen (and I certainly may not have seen it all) for the "other" intercoolers is also suspect - did it include the ducting, and actual location in a real car, or is it from lab testing of the core (which doesn't mean "diddly")?

I think someone on this forum (fritts?) reported that they had collected data, but I don't remember seeing the data itself, although I do recall a claim of 80% efficiency. Since posting the data won't actually cause anyone to back off (they will just question that data) I can't say I would blame him if he didn't post. Now, a vendor of a competing intercooler will just dive right in and have at it, of course, because for that guy, there's money to be made.

So those with questionable or no data post, and those with unbiased information have little reason to participate. I also would like to see a side-by-side comparison done by someone not affiliated with any brand. Until then, I will make decisions based on my understanding of the engineering theory (which leads me to believe the ebay intercooler is an absolutely awesome deal).

I'm already familiar with basic IC theory. It is not quite as simple as suggested above, however. cf.

I am talking to Shineauto about getting these made for sale by them, so I am trying to gauge how many people would be up for it. So please reply here with your thoughts.
Can anyone link a "engine bay" pic of the Ebay intercooler installed? i just wanna get some ideas on how to place the IC, and if i need to take out the airpump to install this IC.

I just want a visualization diagram of some sort so when I install it this summer it will be smooth =)

It fits nearly identically to the M2 medium or the pettit. He references the fact that he cut it down from a pettit duct.
