Its pretty amazing numbers no matter the a/f. I dont know of anyone thats made those number with stock engine and turbo....even on race gas

Thanks Steph....with ported motor I run less advance and A/F's in the 10.8-11.0 range.

Back then I was maxed out with 4x850cc and 17-18 psi was already pushing my luck.

i don't know much about the ignition system (yet ). when you guys install the AEM or the HKS ignition amps, can you safely run them through the stock coils or do you have to upgrade those too? sorry if this has already been answered here...

You can run the stock coils. With the AEM you can eliminate the stock igniter.

You didnt have to upgrade your stock coil? I heard some amp damage your coil...

I thought about getting a twinpower.. but they are pricy..

nah, a MSD6a will work on the stock leading coil. You can buy a MSD6a from Jegs or Summit for $145 brand new or off Ebay for like $100 or less. Personally I prob spend the extra and get a new one that you can trust.

Dont let the cost fool you, its not a rotary spacific product so they sell millions and millions of them cause any car can run one.

You can make a lot of power with just one on your leading coil, then if you need to later just switch to a T2 coil (they are stronger). I know people that have made over 600rw with that combo and its cheap

bit of an update, the AEM unit is bad...car will die shortly after boosting hard, and will not crank, but when i use the supplied bypass plug from AEM (to bypass the ignition amp) it fires right up

let's see how AEM handles customer service =(

Yea, I know. I just cant help it. I mean damn, its so cheap and people have ran them for so long with no problems and made so much power. To me if you can live with splicing it in instead of it having a harness its a no brainer.

Keep us up to date on the AEM cause a lot of people are looking at them, I'm sorry to hear about the troubles. Hopefully they have good customer service. Did you get the unit from a authorized source?
