The injectors are not injecting fuel, but, in gear, the engine will slow the car due to its internal friction at what ever RPM the car speed requires. Having the clutch in or being in neutral means he will coast significantly farther due to no engine braking, and the engine uses very little fuel at idle, resulting in a net gain in fuel economy. That's an old trick often used by us old guys.

BTW, I get ~12-16 mpg around town, and ~22-26 mpg on the freeway. My mods are in my signature. Over an average tank of fuel, I usually get ~18-20 mpg.

 

You guys think by filling the tank only half way and driving will bump up the mpg slighty because of not having to carry that extra amount of gas around.

I don't think you'd notice a mpg increase from carrying ~60 less pounds...

 

I, too, have been getting ~12.5 mpg after the PFC. Once I leaned the map out a bit, I still have not noticed much different. BUT, it was ~11.3-11.7 mpg before PFC. I drive about 20% city and 80% highway, but 20% of the highway is Full Throttle. I don't really feel I gain any mpg when I just drive around...not boosting. But, on long highway, I know I'm doing much better by watching the fuel guage.

11 in town.

Once the PFC was installed the around town driving drinks gas like it's going out of style. The stock ecu was tuned much better for this I averaged around 16.

 

I've been getting like 18mpg city/highway. But lately a lot of city driving has dropped me down to 13-14mpg.

 

17 and 33 for me

A/F = 16.7 for the win

I get between 8-9mpg city and 11-13mpg highway....................... maybe getting those 1000cc primaries and that GT42R were a bad idea after all

I get 8-14 on street... depending on how i drive lol.... I'm leaning towards the low end.. but I know 14 is possible

On the HWY i think i get all the way to 25 mpg

I use to get 15 MPG consistently on Street. And 20-22 MPG HWY.

Now I'm getting 9-10 MPG Street, and 15 MPG HWY.
