I used the ignition wire off my turbo timer as a 12v switch. There isn't anything really usable within the engine bay. Alternatively, you can wire into the cigarette lighter as that acts as a switch for most accessories in the car.

I went and bought Add-A-Circuit at Autozone. It was a little fuse holder that fit two fuses and had a wire coming off of it.

I put it in place of the rear-wiper fuse and it works great.

Im installing water injection and need a wire that only comes on when the ignition is turned on. So where is the ignition wire? Anything I can get to without tearing up the dash?

Lower driver's side kick panel. Take the black fuse box off. Just above the fuse box are two female spade connectors, look like a plugin in your house. The one on the right is 12V ignition switched. I would double check it with a volt meter, but that should be right.

I just spliced off my turbo timer... Much easier + my location of my TT facilitated it.

You can also tap a wire straight off of the ECU harness. It's in the FSM...
