Resonated Midpipe ??'s
A quick survey of what's out there seems to offer two choices:
1. Pettit racing's resonated MP... description and pic show a small, tubular "resonator", that supposedly has "resonating beads" to silence noise.
2. Others, like the RX7store version that appear to be a muffler welded into a midpipe.
Q:
Do either of these offer any advantages in terms of longevity in enduring rotary heat and/or maintaining sound-deadening properties?
Anyone have any data as to wether either style muffles the most? Should i expect roughly the same noise level as a high-flow cat?

I just bought a used RX7Store resonated MP (on it's way) and will post my review of it...I asked Jason (owner of RX7Store) if it robs any power and he said no. So lets install one and see for sure.

well I have the pettit resonated mid-pipe and the JIC SS exhaust, It's loud as hell. You can hear me for at least a mile away. I had the Rx-7 store one but didn't get a chance to put it on. So I can't comment on that one. Hopefully that helps you. I love the pettit one though. very nice design.

I have the Pettit resonated midpipe with an old HKS catback. The car is fairly mild in low to midrange rpms. Once the secondary turbo kicks in, it's LOUD. I thought it was just my paranoia but after listening to my co-driver at several auto-x's, I know it's loud. However, it's not as loud as other FD's with a regular midpipe. enuttage's smurple FD runs a streetported, single turbo, full exhaust (non-resonated), with the A'pexi N1 catback.... it's definitely louder than mine. The resonated midpipe is louder than a hiflo cat for sure. But the extra power is such a night-and-day difference .... hard to imagine going back.
As far as heat endurance, I don't know that it's any different than a regular midpipe or a hiflo cat.
