10mm Lower Engine Mounts

Engines mounts from like Super Now and Ready Go Next require a 95' and up where both engine mounts are steel. If you have a aluminum one, how can you modify it to work with these?

You buy a steel motor mount arm.

I've seen some mounts that would work with the aluminum arm that are aftermarket. The aluminum arm, when the mount is totally removed, has a conical nub on it. This has to be machined flat to use any aftermarket puck-style motor mounts and a hole has to be drilled in the arm.

The problem then is the bolt going through the arm rubs against the aluminum and eventually wears the hole into an oval - seen it a few times before.

I think Himni made a mount once that had a divot in it to bolt onto an aluminum arm without the machine work. But, at the end of the day, going all steel is the best route.

Or if you want to go hardcore get the Full Function mounts, they replace the arms on both sides and are all CNC'd aluminum. Saves weight and it's a beautiful design but they aren't cheap.

Banzai racing offers a core change if you have an aluminum arm. So would their modifications also be insufficient in the long term?

I'm not sure what they do, but they are a quality shop and I'd trust that they do something that will last.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to drill an oversize hole, and then press fit a steel bushing into the aluminum arm.
But I guess it's even easier to just buy a steel arm

Steel arms are pretty easy to source. I wouldn’t bother screwing with the aluminum one. What would make me a little nervous is possibly disturbing the oil pan seal getting the arms off.

+1 unless you're rebuilding or replacing the engine, or have an actively broken mount, it's not worth the risk of creating an oil pan leak.

I cut the pucks down to lower my motor. It’s not too difficult to do.
