This channel may not appeal to the average FD owner, but I I like Naz Maz OSR, which stands for Old School Rotary. This guy is restoring a 10A R100 Mazda, and since very few parts and pieces are readily available, he actually takes every little piece apart and cleans and repairs them. No click bait, no nonsense, just a regular guy sharing videos while he restores his Mazda.

the NASA championships were this weekend, and the Spec Miata race was really good
we were running the #8 S2000 in the Group C, ST5 class. like all the Honda's we've raced it was totally reliable until we needed it, and then it failed...

Fullboost is a Down Under channel that has some great tech content. They just started a series with ProMaz on building a pretty interesting motor for a Spirit R. There are 3 parts, 3rd just came out today and will watch at lunch -
I'm interested how well it drives with that turbo and a bridge port. Wonder if their idea of "streetable" is different from mine...

What an enjoyable series. Simon is one seriously knowledgeable guy and amazing quality of work. Like how he kind of non-judgementally talks about what is usable on the street, and his own personal opinion on chasing numbers on the dyno lol. The videography was great by Full Boost as well.

video option has posted some stuff on a couple of the iconic cars.
the Scoot FD, they had it up to 710ps, its a semi PP with T51. its using some bigger tension bolts (from a 20B), and they did the E shaft with the center bearing
i could post more pics, if anyone wants.
i am really curious to know WTF that hose thing does that goes between the front shocks, ive never seen anything like it
and then my favorite FC, the FEED car. its just so simple on the outside, looks great

Freaking amazing video. Had goosebumps watching the FD driver, who is this legend haha
Legit a really really good driver. The GT3 could barely keep up. Goes to show being a legendary driver beats a good driver in a better car on paper.

^Saw that, Watch JR Go has some good stuff. I hate seeing cars like that where someone hacked the car up and caused all the problems with poor workmanship. I'm also interested to see under the car and see what's up with that crap exhaust rattle sound.
BTW that's the 2nd part, he has a Part 1 video too.
Also don't know why he removed the VFAD and made a deal out of it. It's a cool system, it works, it's not in the way, why remove it?
And the whole "these cars aren't reliable" is such BS. But it makes for click bait.

Yes, I'm curious about the exhaust sound too and whether he'll need to rebuild the engine, ultimately. Maybe the spark plugs and wires will make a difference.
The first video is mostly cleaning out the trunk... after seeing the hackery under the hood, I'm not surprised the idle is a mess. I'd keep the VFAD too.
I do hope this gives John Ross an opportunity to really learn about rotaries. He's right, an R3 would be nicer, but the ratty 2005 base is a better car to fix and modify for YouTube.

Part 3 on that series is up.
I think he's moving on from it, you don't get Youtube clicks by slowly hacking away at a car with little things here and there. I do like that he enjoyed driving the car.
Most likely that engine is good, it shows every sign that it is. That would be a solid car for someone to take the ball and run with. Paint and interior looked pretty good too.

Yes, it didn't look that bad overall, but the crap in the trunk was amusing and the mess under the hood was disturbing.
I watched the third episode... it is an improvement, but he'll probably sell it after doing some detailing work.

This is a guy I can get into watching, looks like he is fairly new to creating these videos. I hope he does some comparison data before and after mods. All diy but he has more tools than the average auto enthusiast.

One of my faves is this "FD Sports Sedan" ... its a silhouette tube frame racer that uses a non-rotary motor, but LOOK at it. It appears to use the stock roof, hood, light covers, front/rear bumper and door profiles, but with an absolutely gorgeous widebody that succeeds where virtually every other one I've ever seen fails: It just looks like a wider version of the car. No strakes, extra creases, cutouts, embelishments, etc., that it seems everyone feels the need to add and are memorialized in the "Wide all RX7 93+ widekits look like absolute ***" thread (also personal fave). If someone sold something like this as a kit for a stock car, I'd be into it.
