you’re tired of hearing people say they are unreliable but yours blew up because it was low on gas?? Doesn’t that seem a bit I don’t know. Uh. Unreliable??

I’ve had rotaries for 25 years, put over 100k daily driven miles on them without any break down issue (mostly non modded miles).

I own 10 sports cars right now and have owned over 40. Never blew one up with low gas. My 87 v6 Canaro used to kind of halt for a bit when I turned when it was low on gas but it didn’t blow the motor. I hate to break it to you but a car that leans out and needs a rebuild is inherently unreliable.

Having nearly twice the RWHP from stock will also make it unreliable.

but I do have (4) FDs unreliable and all.

embrace that others think they are unreliable. If you can keep it running especially heavily juiced up then you’re just that much better of an owner or mechanic.

people think Ferraris are unreliable too.
Glame proof suit lol. I have never blown a rotary engine myself. If you go into my build thread. 93 rx7 improving a great sportscar you will see that the person who painted my car blew the engine. I left it with low fuel so he would not drive it. I assume that he boosted it hard while it was low on fuel and that caused a lean situation which is death to a rotary. The fuel gauge was with the light on when I picked it up. It would still run but only on one rotor. I dont compare reliability of my rx7 with cars like toyota carolla. My motor had 113 original miles when it blew up. I had a 1st gen with bolt ons that I sold with 150k on the original motor. I dont know to many turbo cars that get 200k out of there engines. I consider these engines race engines and race engines need to be maintained very well. If you are off on the running it's not the engines fault. If you dont do regular oil changes and spark plug changes it's not the engines fault. If you rev it to 10k because your buddy said he saw it on a YouTube video not the engines fault. If you rebuild the engine your self and it is not within the proper clearances it's not the engines fault. With all that said I do know that the most reliable fd out there seem to be the stock ones. I just needed a little more and it has been reliable so far. I have a great engine builder and tuner. I also do add things without a proper tune. Working on getting a surge tank to eliminate fuel starvation. By the way a v6 camero is not a sports car. If a v6 camero is a sportscar someone please correct me

I'm tempted to get someone (not me) to build a fast V6 Camaro, because internet.

My FD is set up to be as reliable as possible (stock twins, reliability mods). No, it's not a Toyota, but I want as much of a safety margin as possible and as many miles as possible before a rebuild.

Argument

My argument is that the rotary engine has gotten a bad reputation and a lot of people are scared of them. Some people make it sound as though you cant drive them hard because they will break before you even get a chance to do an oil change. There are some rotards on you tube educating others and I applaud them.
