I know this topic has been covered numerous times, I'm just hoping to get a little clarification on one point.
do we absolutely need the scosche c4mao2 interface?



Or can we get away with just the mao2b? I read some posts saying we need the interface, and some saying we need just the mao2b. We just need to move over the blue/white amp line from the 8 pin harness to pin 10 on the 12 pin harness.

I went with the mao2b and ensured it was wired correctly from everything that I read. The deck turns on fine but no sound from the speakers.

Now I'm debating if I missed something, need the interface device, or should just pull the bose speakers and amps and put in new high output speakers.

If you don't want it to sound like crap you need the scosche adapter. Should be plenty of threads that explain why. Last time I got one from crutchfield they had already done the FD pin swap for me, but definitely validate that one pin has been put in the right position if you get one from them.

As for you getting no sound with your current adapter, I'm not sure. Sounds like your oem bose amps aren't even getting powered on if you get no sound at all. Without the schosche I'd imagine you'd still get sound (just very bad quality/distorted) as long as the wiring was otherwise correct.

I agree with that, makes sense. thats what I was reading online too. I'm still worried that nothing in the speakers are powering on. I'll need to do a little more research into powering that amp up.
