I was checking VIN databases quite often a while ago. It seems that JDM Version 1 cars started at VIN 1000030. I also have notes from a search in the RX7club archived material that there were the following cars in Canada: Handle VIN
hulanfd3s Silver 1991 100056
baw138 Red 10/31/1991 100066
FDKayzer 100160
My sense is that these cars were "back east". It would be interesting where those very early cars ended up. Chances of survival not likely that good.

Reason: spelling correction
Weird, I just found out my collection pics got taken down? strange. I will repost it here!
But, I have had the car over a week now, and has been my Daily Driver the whole time. My clutch went out in the Evo, so been stuck driving this. Not a hiccup, I love it
I.e., not heavily modified (at least on the exterior).
Is that the prevailing style or is there some compliance with regulations issues?
Thanks for posting up. Very inspiring!
Can very much relate to rainy day meets.
Thanks! It was a fairly low turn out due to the weather, it stopped raining for maybe an hour during the whole day. I'd say FD's in the UK are a complete mix, lots run aftermarket body kits and some with engine conversions, be it a 20b, 26b or F20 etc. Single turbos are probably more common than twins now and an unmodified car is a rarity for sure. It just so happens that 3 of the ones attending this event had oem bodies. There are very little regulations over here with regards to bodywork, so modifying isn't an issue.
Can someone explain the bumper on the silver one... is this a UK only design? i have never seen that rear bumper before. i assume it's rare also. looks cool- awesome shots. that spirit R is god tier, my favorite spec and colour.
That is the "Euro" spec back bumper. Accomodates the longer license plate. Also there may have been "back-up fogs".
It seems the piece was actually an insert. Someone is selling such inserts on Ebay.
P224 may be an original import while the other cars could be "grey market" later imports.
Yeah that's a euro bumper as fitted to the UK and other European cars. They had an extra switch in the centre console for the rear fog as rear fogs are a legal requirement over here (Most just convert one reverse light to a fog on JDM FD's). Only one side was functional and the other side is a dummy light. When I owned a UK car I bought and extra bulb holder and converted it so both worked as I thought it was a bit odd having just the one when you've got two light housings.
The silver car is actually a JDM car but with a euro bumper fitted.
At first I didn't like the euro bumper, but it definitely grew on me. They are not easy to get hold of these days due to the very low production numbers originally. Not sure what you mean by insert? Do you have a link out of interest? They are all one piece with the bumper on the euro bumpers.
That's pretty cool, thanks for the link, nice to have the option to convert a standard bumper!
Yeah the switches are very sought after and fetch good money if they ever do surface. Cant say I've seen one for sale since 2016. Middle switch in my FD below, looks like a normal fog swtich but reversed and different light pattern angle (Straight rather than angled down like front fogs):
Sourced some "in period" wood Miata pieces. Wood shifter **** is a bit lightweight. Thinner wheel lets me see turn signal indicators more easily. Wood pieces remind me of my old RX3 (plastic) pieces and also hark back to the the 1968 Cosmo. Brightens up the interior.
Sunset at 4:05 on one of the shortest days of the year. Supposed to be able to see Jupiter and Saturn align one of these nights. Hopefully a good sign for 2021.

Hi, may I ask where did you get those RHD A Pillar gauge pods from and how is the fitment?
