Replacing pressure lines with silicone hose

Hello all,

I am (hopefully) replacing the oem hose pictured. I believe it runs back to the Y-pipe.
I noticed the oem hose on this barb had a much thicker wall than my planned replacement.
Does anyone know if the SAAS automotive silicone hose will cope? Will the hose expand and contract to a degree that causes different issues?

Thanks in advance

I am not familiar with SAAS silicone vacuum hose. However, judging by the pics, it seems very thin walled. What temperature is it rated to?

The walls are indeed not very thick. I saw old posts for hosetechniques product but couldn't find an available option in Australia.
This is part of my concern. I don't know how much pressure to expect in these lines either.

If I can identify your arrowed area, it just runs to your Y pipe. Pressure would be boost pressure plus intake losses basically, which on non-uprated twins = not much, so if the usual 2mm wall, doubt that will be an issue. I see some of the usual Chinese brands do 2.5 and 3mm if particularly worried.

For the most robust silicone hose, look for a brand/vendor that sells platinum-cured silicone that has a thick wall (2.5mm or greater). This particular vendor link has a good explanation of why platinum cured hose is better, but you can get this stuff from lots of sources - any reputable vendor that caters to the motorsport builder/fabricators market will carry it.
