Thanks for the info, that's interesting. My garage is similar to yours space wise, pretty standard 2 car attached suburbia garage, but I ended up going with an Atlas 4-post single car lift about 3 years ago. Had I known a double wide existed, I might have considered one. Scroll up to post #318 for pictures.
Do you do much wheels off work with your cars on the lift? Curious how a double-wide would function for that kind of use - do you need to have a car on both sides for the locks & such to work safely?
I do plenty of wheels off work on mine, typically use the jacking tray that comes with it and a bottle jack to raise each end of the car via the cross member of diff, and set it on jack stands to do wheels-off stuff. Alternatively, I can raise the car on the lift, skip the jacking tray and set a raised floor jack under the right spot and then carefully lower the car onto it to raise the car off the ramps and set it on jack stands.

Sadly havent had time to play with included jack for lift. All my wheel changes are done with car on ground using regular jack.
The lift was nice when my son changed his exhaust and sway bar (wheels on).
There is no issue with only one car on lift. Only recently did I finally put two up top.
She ain't much but she is mine! I dont even have garage space for it at my house so for now she lives in a friends basement. It was left out side for many years before i rescued it though.

new addition to the garage.. well driveway really as there is no room in the garage.. four have to sit outside
she was only in the garage temporarily for vaccuming... series 5 with 81k miles 100% stock
will be my daughter's first car once i get it all checked out...
You guys that can fit lifts are living the life. Here's mine during the rare moments of being organized and neat.
You could probably fit a lift in there. Just some high lift track and a jackshaft opener. Looks like you have about 38-40” of open space above the 7’ tall openings. Bendpak has a 2 post that works within that range. I have seen lifts in smaller spaces.
I have a drive on scissor lift made by Stratus in mine with a lower ceiling. I’ll take a picture of it tomorrow. It will raise 48”. I can’t get full rise out of it with the current car on it but probably can with the FD.
Got my lift installed a few weeks ago. Finally had a garage that could support one! The rest isn’t done from an aesthetic point, but I do have room for 3 cars and my tools/workspace.
Here is mine with a Stratus mid-rise. Still a cluttered mess from moving into the house a few months ago. Need to finish up the lighting and organization.

I am space-constrained, so it's a major pain to work on things. One of the smarter things i did was to build a storage platform that is raised and lowered by a cheap Harbor Freight 110V winch. After raising it into the up position, I connect the safety straps (heavy wire with proper lifting-type eye bolts)and let the winch run out so the load is carried by them. Then nip the winch back up so no load on it but most of the slack is out. Not the best fail-safe for the straps but I am pretty confident in those.
It's a great place to store thing like the hardtop for the Land-Rover, since here in the SE I have just been running the canvas top year round.
Not much to look at and cramped at the moment because we are also renovating the house but its slowly coming together. Unfortunately, I am about 4" short of being able to install a platform lift like I would like. It would be nice to have one or both cars lifted and make room for another vehicle. 3 car garages are just not large enough. Wife gets brownie points for choosing the garage floor company and making it glow in the dark.
^ Wow, a clean S14 and an FD? Unicorn garage! Any more pics of the S14?
The S14 is the wife's car that has been a project for over 20 years. Originally started building it for highway racing because we used to build a lot of Supras for the same purpose and she didn't want just another Supra at the time. Really need to update the turbo and standalone, other than that, paint is the only thing it needs. Everything else has been gone through.
