i noticed one guy had a home made cat back using a magnaflow. I was just curious if more people have used magnaflow or flowmaster. Personally i dont want a loud exhaust. Pretty much the quieter the better. But i don't want to choke it like the stock system does. I was thinking of going with a XR1 in place of the midpipe and then a magnaflow dual tip. 3" all the way back. Do you think that would be quiet at cruising speeds, without being too restrictive. I have a street port and single turbo. Has anyone seen those dump pipes that are boost controlled? it allows you to run a quiet exhaust and then at whatever psi u want it opens up and has a 3" dump. I thought about running somthing like that and running a nice quiet one all the way back. I was worried that it might hurt the spool up though... Opinions? here is the link to what im refering to http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release091004.htm

i got my racing beat dual tip in the mail today, installed it, but the instructions say that there is a chasis mounted retaining strap that bolts to the two holes on the passenger side of the canister... it wasnt included in the box, is it supposed to be? or is it some stock piece that bolts up/

That would really suck on cars with sensitive engine tuning like the 7's....

^^ what is that lil piece riveted on right above the exhaust?? The reason i ask is because that area melted on mine and that looks like a decent alternative to replacing the bumper.

i would think the timing when the dump valve opens would be fairly consistant, as long as the boost at which it opens wasnt constantly changed, i dont see how it would effect the tuning. At least it has a pattern, unlike weather conditions.
During most cruising speeds it would be tuned with it shut, and at high engine loads and higher rpms it would be tuned more with it the dump valve open. Of course everytime you shift the valve would close and reopen. i dont know if that could cause any strange hiccups or not. But the stock sequential system's design has valves that effect back pressure and flow as it is. I wouldnt think tuning would be an issue, iv'e never tried the device though so i dunno.

Its a carbon fiber bumper guard made by rotary extreme, they are closed now but evor makes a similar bumper guard just a little smaller...

I recently replaced my RB duals with a set of St may shot gun exhaust. Its a lot more quiet than i expected. On throttle, its just barely louder than the RB, but while ur just idling, its quite loud. at least twice as loud as the RB. I didn't get to record a sound clip, but i weighted both exhausts. RB dual is 30lbs, and St May SG is 35lbs.

Okay, I can't decide between the HKS carbon Ti and the Greddy full Ti. I love the sound of both (from what I have heard) I can't seem to find some good pics of the greddy ti though...anyone?

Is there any exhaust that look like the n1 duals or shotgun's but don't have their sound? IMO the n1's sounds terrible so is there an exhaust w/ similar looks but better sounding?
