OEM air filter discontinued

So my local dealership just told me that Mazda has discontinued the FD air filter. Anyone else run into this one? Seems pretty surprising to me, I wasn't expecting an air filter to become a rare FD part LOL.

I guess I can go aftermarket? Not sure if it's worth calling up Ray for an air filter!

It’s never good news when that happens. But nothing wrong with the majority of aftermarket anyway.

its been NLA for a while, even if Mazda USA sold you the genuine part, nobody was buying it.

Save it for that 100 point “survivor” judging in 20 more years.

actually to put a positive spin on this, the OEM air filter is available, although Mazda USA does not carry it.

N3A1-13-Z40 is the current part number.

It came in a Mazda box, and the filter material is yellow, for whatever that is worth!

You can get the filter from Amayama: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mazda/n3a113z40

Whats interesting, is you can get it shipped from UAE at a much cheaper cost than from Japan.

Pretty nice find! Also cheaper than buying a KN air filter.
