Mazda Restoration Reproduction Parts Program for the FC and FD

Just saw this in my news feed. Not sure if anyone else has seen this article so I thought I'd post it here. This is potentially great news for us FC/FD owners trying to restore our cars:

That would be amazing. Especially if they started making LHD interior plastics again!

Exactly. Supply’s are dropping. Maybe if Mazda resumed production (seems as though no one else has been able to commercially produce them) prices might move south...or at least level off.

Drivers door map pocket for LHD cars alone should make them enough profit to justify this program.

Mazda never stopped production. supplies are not dropping, it is just cheaper to buy the whole engine.

I know that's true for FD's, but as far as I know you still can't buy a whole new engine for an FC (13B or 13BT) or for an SA/FB (12A & 13B).

it will. the list of parts that they have made for the 90-93 Miatas is about 243 part numbers.

How does the pricing compare to the original pricing before discontinuation?

it seems to be about the same. its also not really 1:1, there are some parts like the caliper pistons, that were never available separate before.

its also a lot of oddball hardware, the miata list is generated by the restoration program.

This will be so nice! I can’t wait not to spend 200$ on 30$ parts, and it will be made with non-90’s plastics.

New vendors and manufacturers that are making currently available plastic and rubber parts kind of sucks seems like their quality control standard is very low anyone that bought recent new rubbers and trims knows what I'm talking about

I hope this does get the green light and they use better manufacturers with higher standards

TRD just announced that they were bringing back produciton of the JZA80 Supra TRD 3000GT widebody kit for a limited run. Hoping Mazdaspeed does something similar with R-spec parts.

Toyota already confirmed a short list of parts for the MKIV, with the plan to grow that list significantly.
