-When the site comes up in Russian, I am afraid. My PC is too. Marks that site as unsecure as well.

If your guys are clicking into there from a business, you might be at risk of an ransomware attack.

Much of what you see in Japanese manuals diagrams are actually English words spelt out in Katakana.

Here is a helpful link.

Browsed through the Version 1 JDM FSM last night electronic version. Got as far as page 1018 before I found what I was looking for.

The manual does seem to have twice the frequency of illustrations.

I found proof that fender mirrors where indeed considered for the FD.

They even had the unusual setting out of the parts numbers.

Parts mentioned included a "doa capu" for when you remove the door mirrors..

Haha. You are tempting me. A rare OEM+ addition!

I actually bought two sets of fender mirrors out of Thailand that were said to be OEM Mazda.

But suspect back in the day, there were all kinds of choices (as evidenced by Google images).

They were only about 15 bucks each .

(The Thai seller is still listing on ebay.)

Can you get me a price, or shall I just call Mazda Canada?

Just picked this up from a seller in the UK. I now have the hard copies for each version, except Version 5.

I kind of want that CD player (the single one, not the changer) from the Series 8. Not sure if it would work in a North American car, though.

I have the single din, single CD period Protege/Miata one in my car. Matches very nicely. Plugged right into to the JDM harness, no problem.

I also picked up the TV unit last week on YAJ.

FM radio is from 76-89MHz only. For the US, the Protege 5 radio has the same style fascia as 01-02 jdm rx7 (with subtle changes eg ***** and side buttons swicthed left vs right) and same red illumination. Also comes with in dash 6 CD changer from memory. Other Protege radios from the era also fit and have green illumination and a slightly different style fascia.

i used a 626 radio in something, it is a single din am/fm/CD. it came in Bose/non Bose too, so it would plug in and work.

actually any 1989-2003 Mazda radio will plug in and work, they all have the same plug and pinout

That says "Hole Cover" (ホール・カバー). "Cap" is "キャップ" (Kyappu). Makes perfect sense that it's in Group 69

Also, it looks like Group 79, middle digits in the part numbers, could be allocated to Optional Parts such as these, Aero Kits, ski rack, etc. Would definitely be worth looking in the Dealer Accessory catalogs to confirm this theory.

For FD3S, the group number for most dealer accessories is V7. Some include numbers between V0 and V4.

However, for whatever reason, audio optional accessories eg CD changers etc do have the group number 79 as suggested. The replacement parts for those same accessories carry the group number as the original part group, eg audio is 66.

i think perhaps 79 might be for dealer options that are replacements rather than pure addons.

For SA22C JDM 78-85, the group number for dealer accessories is 77. However, like the FD, audio option accessories use the group number 79.

in the US we add 0000-88 numbers, because a lot of our accessories were made here. then we also get some of the JDM stuff, so its all mixed

TLDR: Get the Mazda part number and shop around

Not Long Enough Need to Read More: so Mazda USA raised their prices 6% in May, and it appears as if Mazda Japan lowered their prices (the Yen to Dollar is good right now, so it could be that too).
Mazda Japan sells parts to Mazda USA, and Mazda USA marks things up to cover shipping and tariffs and make some money.
BUT
there are differences in the price structure between the USA and Japan, so while it is usually true that parts are cheaper in Japan, it is not always the case. Mazda USA seems to subsidize some stuff, and penalize others.
i couldn't find a good example today, although it is a good example of how things change. the FD fuel filter used to be able $50 list price here in the USA, and $90 in Japan, but today its reversed, $82.74 here and Amayama is $53.56
i have a list of stuff i'd like for my FC, and a few months ago it was cheaper to buy here, and now its cheaper to buy in Japan.
