No offense to anyone who does have an all original, low mileage CYM as we all have our own hobbies that make us happy. Mine can certainly be broken down to make me look like an idiot .
Thanks Brent. I've made the mods slowly over 10 years, so I've had a lot of time to look, read, and choose the path and parts that best meet my approach and style based on what others have tried before me. I've resisted the temptation to add a full body kit, however I do love the FEED products (ala Ernie T's setup). To each his own, and for me the stock nose is fine (for now)

I already have pictures of most of your cars that I use as a screen saver on my PC and I've kept some details of sales via eBay and AutoTrader.

Maybe we could even gets Chudsoncoupe to do a 2012 CYM calendar

Here are a couple of pictures of mine.
Good lord, do I see 3 FDs in that left picture (2 reds and a CYM). I'm currently trying to talk the wife into a second "project" car, but 3! Awesome!

Looks really good Richard! I'm def. going to make it down to your neck of the woods next summer. Can't wait to check out your FD's.
Allrotor93 has been threatening to come to VIR for years hopefully Ernie's old ride will finally make it happen.

Thanks for the props and you know it was my pleasure. Nothing better than sharing your joy with another like minded individual and the east coast track rats are going to miss you while your in TX.

I agree, cars are made to be driven especially these.

Some really nice looking CYMs pictured. Lets keep this thread going

Oops too hot on that corner exit!

Very special, best friend in ZO6. Oh, and where you should be on track as compared to the previous shot.

And finally just a cool shot. These pics are very outdated. Car now has twice the power and three times the grip. Needs bigger brakes if I am going to break into the teens at my home track - Sebring. I really want to go to VIR. it is on the list, maybe in a year or so.

Actually yes, but I only get to keep two.

Here are the one's I plan to keep. 93 VR R-1 (26,xxx); 93 CYM R-1 (61,xxx)

I had wanted an FD ever since they were first introduced in 1993. I talked about one for several years, until my wife finally told me to buy one so I would be quiet. I never did because at age 28 I could not justify a car that cost as much as I was earning. Fast forward to 2004 when I picked up my first FD, then got out of rotary scene for a few years due to work load. That changed last year when I picked up the 93 VR Base with mods and a new paint job -- which I planned to keep long term. Then came the 93 VR R-1, 2 owner, with only 26,xxx miles (car on the left). Then the good deal on the 2 owner CYM with 60,xxx miles.

My wife agreed to the purchase of the CYM with the understanding I would get rid of the VR Base.

Question: So how does one sell a spouse on the idea of owning two FD's?
Answer: Tell her that you can buy two for less than the cost of buying one new in 1993.

That is what I did.

Now that I've gotten her to drive one, she and both my girls love the cars. In fact my daughters have laid claim to them once we kick the bucket. We like driving them to the local Dairy Queen on weekends. Many people have never seen an FD in their life. When we drive around, they get to see two at the same time -- and see a CYM that even fewer will ever see.

A couple photos of my long lost cars... one day I'll see them again!

Also, I no longer own any of the wheels pictured, sold the Meisters and black RPF1s a while ago. The green RPF1s were just a test fit, though I love that look

cabaynes CYM (the one with the Work Meisters) and amp's CYM engine bay shot are the reason I bought my CYM. Some day mine will look like those cars -- which will of course be 'old news' by then.

cabaynes -- when do you finish school in LV so you can return to your long lost FD's?

Already finished the masters. I don't think I'm headed back east any time soon unless something in my career changes drastically. Current plan is to bring the FDs out to the desert... perhaps next year? I've got Scrub keeping an eye on them while they hide back home

Nice!! Best CYM and one of the best put together car I've seen (in any color).

After owning a yellow car (RX-8), I told myself I would not own another yellow car. I had so many people who tried to run me off in that car than any car I've owned in my life. Weird how bright yellow car can't be seen by most.

Thanks Phil! I have a ton of respect for your cars as well. Great craftsmanship and attention to detail are what make a good car that much better, and your cars have it!! My favorite FDs of all time are probably DCups and RSPECT FD. Again, 2 FDs assembled by craftsmen with an incredible eye for quality and detail.

Not anymore it's not...you have any pics of yours? I was going to turn ernie's into my track car but I have no need for 2 cars. My 20b will be trackable. Just deciding whether to sell the CYM as a roller or put a single turbo back in it.
