Just bought my FD roller
I moved the thread to the third gen section. Feel free to look through the classifieds section here on the forum. There are a few good shops that build engines. Atkins Rotary and Mazdatrix are but a couple

FWIW, my story:
In the interest of doing as much myself as possible, I scoured Craigslist for long blocks (I bought my FD without an engine). In my search, I just assumed that anything I found would require rebuild. With that, I eventually ran across someone selling a long block a couple of states away. It was looking pretty beat, but it was surprisingly in good shape when we cracked it open. Doing this allowed me to have the engine built-up the exact way I wanted. With a local FD authority very close to me (I'm very fortunate), we were able to employ some "special sauce" items into the build. I guess the take-away I'm trying to provide is that it is possible to find good deals from sources like the Classifieds or Craigslist, but one should approach a used engine with the mindset that it must be rebuilt - unless you saw the previous owner run it then pull it out right in front of you. Now, if you have $4k+ burning a hole in your pocket, then whatever.
