JP3 short shifter reviews

I don't have a build thread on this forum, so I figured I'd just make a thread where we can all share our reviews of the JP3 short shifter in one place.

I don't have any installed pics, and I thought I took a few pics right after I unboxed it but now I can't find them.

Either way, I love this shifter. I have a couple hundred miles on it so far and it's broken in a little now. It was really notchy at first, not much different than the CUBE Speed (B&M style) shifter I replaced. But after a little driving it loosed up just a tad and it's perfect now. I didn't have many miles on the CUBE shifter either, but I had raced on that one and I got to the point where I was afraid to shift because it was a little difficult to get into gear quickly, so I just tried to stay in the same gear all the time (autox size time attack course). I'm eager to see how this one feels on the track. I'll post again once that happens.

is it noisy? the B&M style RX7store one i have now makes a super loud click when going into certain gears. been eying this shifter for awhile now since the Mazdaspeed one is pretty hard to find and usually overpriced.

I haven't heard a peep from this shifter. I think I remember hearing my CUBE Speed clunk a little but I don't remember it being too noisy. Or maybe I just tuned it out haha.

The way I look at it, something like this should make you not even notice it, and this one doesn't. It doesn't make noise, it shifts perfectly, throw is short but the height is still at or near the stock height. I've had to really focus and remember to make note of the shifter.

I had a C's shifter in the car for years until I swapped in the CUBE last year. The C's was very sloppy. I don't remember if it started out sloppy or if that's just how it progressed over the years. Although now I'm wondering if maybe I didn't have some pieces in there that I needed to. It took me a few extra minutes to make sure I was installing this shifter in the right order, and I don't remember if I did it the same way with the C's.
