Yeah I saw the video and was a bit bummed by the ignorance, but oh well. Why are they even talking about turbo lag on the stock sequentials? There's like NO lag at all.

More interesting to me than the two jokers in the vid though, what is up with all that turbo whistle? The turbos in my car aren't nearly as hissy as the ones in this video.

If you are used to modern turbo cars, the stock sequentials are laggy and lack low end torque--BUT they do still rev out pretty high. If you go wide open throttle at 1500 or 2000rpm not much happens for a few seconds. Drive a 4 cylinder turbo gasoline German engine and spool is a lot better but they start to run out of breath at less than 6000rpm.

I get the sense that this car in question isn't very well maintained. It probably collects dusts most of the year and gets brought out for events occasionally. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a boost leak, needs bushings replaced, and other known problems as FD's get older.

Maybe the two comments are related?
Perhaps there's some kind of boost leak or something else causing the sound and hurting performance.

if this is a pre production test vehicle... test vehicles are not known to be treated gently. It was probably abused early in its life and poorly maintained.
