Instrument dimmer switch question
I was looking at purchasing an FD and realized that some models don't seem to have this dimmer switch for the instrument cluster.
Is it possible to buy the switch and wire it up easily? Or did these cars just not come with it at all. I've noticed it the most on R trim JDM cars.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Dimmers are not a requirement in Japan as they are in the US, so maybe it was a trim-level option.
The dashboard illumination of FD's is not so bright anyway, my car is set to the max brightness and it is not excessive in any way imo.

They're in the early JDM cars, they removed them when the series 7 came out, cost saving measure I bet. Bypassing one in a car that has one would be easy, but wiring one into a car that doesn't have one would be a big task. My series 7 never had one, as said, they're basically always set to max brightness anyway, so wouldn't worry about not having one.

my 94 FD LHD with PEG has that panel light dimmer switch, which is powered off the 15A tail light fuse on my car......ask me how I found that out.......book wiring diagrams.
