I'll give my $0.02. IMO and upon first glance, this is why modded cars are harder to sell. Even though it's a bit rough (not for the miles though) I still liked just about everything about it. Except when it came to the Half-bridge port, nope I'm out. From the videos looks like the cars runs pretty smooth. Even still, people who are selling single turbo cars need to provide a video showing AFRs, engine/exhaust temps at start up, idle, cruise, and WOT.

Haha. But it may be proof that there is an alternate universe at play in the Vancouver Market in regard to fantasy RX7 mods.
I am not sure that any Canadian LHD has sold for that kind of dollar.
Just thought I'd give y'all a taste of the market as it is unfolding here.
And we are all scratching our heads on the way things are blowing up in the Japanese auction market.
I heard nothing is getting listed for less than 4.0 million yen.

The market as a whole is going thru a crazy time right now. New and used cars are thru the roof.
Our little collector just keeps going up in price. Which is perfectly fine for me..

Things are nuts... Just look at this one:
Sold for $63,500 on 8/26/21
1994 Mazda RX-7
Re-sprayed yellow from a Montego PEP (sunroof and no rear wiper)
Single turbo - 344 RWHP on a dyno jet.
Widebody
Air suspension
140,000 miles
Terrible wavy CF interior
One speaker doesn't work
Speedometer is inaccurate
Wiper motor is slow
Mismatched brake systems (willwood up front while stock in the back)

Honestly, I wouldn't know other that it says that it sold

- This particular RX-7 was offered on Cars & Bids in August 2021, with the prior listing shown here. The winning bidder did not follow through for reasons unrelated to the vehicle or seller, and has been permanently banned. Only bid if you are 100% committed to purchasing the car. It's only fair to the seller, other bidders, and the C&B community. Thank you... and on with the show!

There's an absolutely gorgeous FC Turbo II with only 2200 miles on it on BaT. Should set a new high price for FC's.

Just gave a quick glance through some of the photos on that T2...... that driver's seat bolster looks like it's seen much more use than 2200 miles, and the car has a fair amount of scuffs and deep scratches on it. Just based on the bolster wear I don't see this car setting any records. The bidders with the serious cash will definitely be given pause--- let's see what happens. Engine bay does look damn clean.

Weird thing is the exhaust tips, it should have rolled chrome tips and they just look like plain pipes. The underside pictures shows it's a stock exhaust with the heat shielding and everything. Don't know what happened there.
Yeah bolster wear is high, but that could just be from getting in and out and sitting in it or something.
Also I have NO idea why they listed it with the 87-88 turbo wheels half on. For the money they are looking for they should have bought 4 new nice tires, had them put on the OEM wheels, and installed. That sticks out like a sore thumb. Those tires that are on it look done as hell too.
I REALLY wish I had room to have a TurboII. I had an '87 turbo and an '88 10th Anniversary back in the day, LOVED those cars. I dig the later cars but I hate those damn mouse belts.

Dale... I agree. Never had an FC, but a very good friend had a red TII with black interior and I drove it and in it a lot in the late 90's. It was a very nice Japanese GT-like car. Very fast (not of course by today's standards) but quite civilized and very little turbo-lag. Well-made, but, while I liked the seats a lot, was put off by the plastics.

BTW read more of the comments on BaT, the car has some sort of muffler delete - they basically made straight pipes that bolt up to the muffler flanges. He said he got rid of the original mufflers which sucks, those things are unobtanium now especially in decent shape.
Also he said he started it and ran it in the garage every few weeks which explains the seat wear. Just ran it up to temp. That's probably a good thing he did that.

That FC is sketch. It says "seller notes that car idles high." It probably needs a vacuum job and who knows what else. It had 200 miles on it before he bought it. If it had like 10k miles and was driven more regularly that would be one thing, but there are definitely red flags.

High idle is probably a stuck thermowax. Since the FC has an airflow meter a vacuum leak means a low idle or stalling.
Really he should have spent a tiny amount of time and money to get the car presentable before listing. Fix the idle, sort the wheels, maybe have minor touch up body work done and probably could have had a pro re-color the driver's seat. Simple stuff like that would have eliminated the questions and increased the value big time.
I'm sure the scratches/dents on the car are from being in a garage forever, hell I've got a dent in my FD from hitting it while working in the garage.
But, the small things also give it that "sad puppy dog" where you want to get it and make it right.
Still, it's nice to see a survivor FC. Those cars got burned up big time, used to be able to find used FC's no sweat back in the day and now they are all but gone. I remember driving around town in the mid-late 90's and seeing 2 or 3 on car lots. Those days are gone, they were cheap and plentiful enough that they were burned through pretty hard. Heck, I sent a number of parts cars to the junkyard and totaled my first 87 turbo.
This is why I always say to keep these cars on the road. Put some work and love in and keep it going for the future. If you can't, pass it on to someone who can.

Eccentric local hot rod builder up here had been accumulating '90s Japanese cars for years. Had an about four acre lot full of them, all moldering away. Many FC, 240, etc. a few NSX, couple of Eunos Cosmos.
Heard recently his sons have liquidated the lot, only pulling off the most valuable pieces, and crushing the rest.
The land value had likely shot way up, and no where to shift them to, and no desire to sell piecemeal.
Now no one can get FC parts.
Bunch of local kids getting interested in rotaries ,and FD are out of the question.
Probably could have found homes for those derelict FC.
