Hood Latch Pull Tab

Can anybody shoot a picture of the underside of the hood latch pull mounted below the dash? I had to undo mine in a hurry recently when I could not open the hood and now I think I am missing a piece or I have it hooked up wrong.

Thx

It would be easier for you to post a picture of what you have going on. If you need a reference, look at the hood latch. It's the same.

Can anyone take a similar pic of their hood latch pull please?

Thx

It took me 3 minutes total to post these pics--50 seconds to walk out to my car (sitting out in a separate garage), 10 secs to snap the pics, 50 secs to walk back to my computer, and the rest to load the pics onto the site. I know this is not high-level excitement, but I just want to see the factory setup for 'reference'.

Thx

the snark made me laugh. Just for that you’re getting shots of a RHD latch!

Thanks Madhat. That's the way I thought it was to start with, but it would not open the latch. I obviously have some other problem with the latch/cable mechanism. This helps a lot. I can rule out one possible cause. Thanks for taking a moment to snap some pics.

David

Edit: No charge for the 'snark'.

Typically the hood end of the cable is what has problems - it breaks off or the latch gets jammed. The interior part typically stays OK.

As mentioned in the original post, I had to disassemble the pull in a hurry to open the hood. I just wanted to be sure I had it back together right. I am looking at the other possibilities now. Thanks for the input.
