99 Rebar fit 93 bumper

I cannot find a 93 rebar anywhere, but can only find the 99 spec bumper reinforcement. Will the 99 spec reinforcement fit with the 93 bumper or do I need to continue hoping to find a 93 somewhere?

The shape around the license plate is quite a bit larger with the 99-spec, possibly if you did substantial modification it would work. My 1995 has a plateless aftermarket 99-spec bumper, and it uses a modified 93-95 style rebar and that seems to work fine. You should be able to do the same going the other way around. It will take some careful grinding, test fitting, grinding, test fitting...etc. and there might be an excess opening in the rebar where the license plate area protrudes.

Wow, usually it's the other way around.

PM @tomsn16 here on the forum, he has tons of parts. Also may be worth posting a WTB in the classifieds.

I would think it would take a great deal of hacking to make it work and a good 99 rebar is worth good money used. Makes more sense to get the right part.

Yeah keep looking. You could trade that 99 for four 93 and have change left over for lunch.

I have a rebar off my 92 fd if you're interested. Shipping might be expensive though.

Well I have a 93 spec bumper already delivered, and dont care to get the 99+ front end so im kinda doing it backwards lol. Its kinda surprising how easy it was to find a 99+ front rebar and 93 rear rebar, but a 93 front rebar seems to be a bridge too far.
