help with 99 spec bumper

Guys,

Got a 99 spec bumper coming to fit on my 93 spec car.
I know the undertray is the same and should match up and have got the Feed adapters for the light harnesses.

Anyone got any guides to fitting the 99 spec bumper please ? I have a workshop manual for the 93 spec car but not a later one to have a look first before the bumper gets here.

Also with the fogs, I plan to get 99 spec ones later on.....are the harnesses the same ?

Any help would be ace.
Cheers,
Gareth

Did you get the 99 spec rebar with it also? Its a pretty straight install. I also had to re use the brackets from my 93 bumper. You will have to cut the existing rivets off and rivet it them back to your new bumper.

Undertray is not the same, you should source one from Corksport or Shine Auto Project. The 93 Undertray will come up short.

The 99 Bumper is self explanatory, you will not be surprised when it gets to you. However you will need a rivet gun to make the center anchor work. You will also be transferring the hardware from your old bumper to your new one.

Harnesses should bolt in, if anything it's not that hard to come up with a conduit to connect old vs new.

Heres a video for starters:

Good luck on your install and take your time because you are dealing with a painted surface. Dont stress about getting the rebar off its very simple.

If you plan on using the stock rebar, you will need to cut and shave off where the stock signal light hole is. There is a thread on here to how much you need to shave off. And that stock rebar fiber glass is hard as hell.

Best thing to do is just get the 99 rebar. Everything will bolt right up if you have the 99 rebar. So much easier and will have awesome fit. You will have to custom mount the 99 fogs if you plan on using your stock rebar. And as far as the stock undertray goes.. it is not the same as the 99 undertray. But you can always zip tied it..

Thanks for the info guys.
Will see how much the rebar is from Mazda (I live in the UK you see), am expecting it to be a fair bit.

Anyone got any pics of an early undertray where it meets the 99 spec bumper at all please ?

best thing to do is waste money on a rebar when it is totally not needed? i think not, the smart move would be to just cut the stock rebar, lots cheaper than the, what is it 600dollars on corksport?.. and hell if he is in the UK i doubt it would be any cheaper
