99 Spec Bumper Install

I recently purchased the 99 spec bumper and I am in the process of purchasing the Rebar.

But I was reading the forum and am beginning to think that the change is more difficult than I thought.

In order to change the rebar for the 99 spec I have to un-rivet (that a word?) the old 93 and then redo it with the 99?

Anyone done this? Will this be difficult? Is this the reason why some people stay with the 93 rebar? (aside from costs).

Anyone got pic installation of bumper?

Thanks

I think you might be a little confused.

You can cut the ends of your '93 spec rebar and it will work with the '99 spec bumper.

In order to reuse the aluminum brackets from your '93 spec bumper skin, you do have to drill out the old rivets. You then have to transplant the brackets to your '99 spec bumper skin and rivet them back on.

All-in-all, not a difficult job. I did mine in a couple of hours, and that was with me taking my time...

Good luck

+1 it's not a complicated process. Just make sure everything is lined up properly before you drill the holes in your new bumper
