Upgrade thermostat for 3rd gens

does anyone know a good place to where to buy a lower 75Celsius or 170,180f thermostat upgrade for the FD?

Do not get the one that opens cooler. 68 is too low. It will take a long time to warm your engine, and your engine may run too cool. Believe it or not, the engine does have a optimal temperature to produce power. In addition, other sensors use the temp to set the running of the engine.

Do a search on the list; someone dynoed their car with different temp settings with the PFC, and they found that they made 40 more hp at 85 then at 75.

The best tip is to get a new 180 tstat, replace it every 40k miles, and buy a larger radiator.

where can you get a 180° F thermostat? is that the stock one?

I believe the stock one opens at 203F . Does anyone know where you can pick one up off hand. I to lazy and poor to call around, or pay my 2 legs for one from Japan.

you can order a 180 degree one from mazda
just ask for a 180 F or a 82 C (same thing) one from them.

I believe that the stock starts to open at 178 and is fully open by 203.
