1" hose question

Does anyone know where the 1" hose coming off the side of the air filter box closest to the intercooler is supposed to attach?

It attaches to nothing, It runs down below the air box and just hangs there, something the mazda ppl thought of as they were smoking out and designing our cars....

if that is the case...

If that is the case mine is doing a great job of just hanging there doing nothing, sort of like the secondary turbo.
