Twisted off bolts
I twisted off two fot he four bolts that hold the downpipe on when I was trying to put on my HKS pipe. Is there any way to get them out other then removing the turbo's and taking it to a shop? I didn't even try to get the last one out, although the first one I tried came out with no problem. I guess all the heating and cooling with the addition of corrosion stuck the other two in there pretty well. It seems that they haven't been touched since it rolled off the assembly line. I'll probably just have the dealership fix it, no shops around here want to touch my car.

I broke one of the studs on my dp too. I got a carbide bit for my dremel, got under the car, and drilled the stud out to where there was almost nothing left of it, stuck a screwdriver in it, and threaded it out. It wasn't nearly as tough as I thought it would be.

I think there's actually a little bit left on both of the bolts because they twisted off right under the nuts. How hard was it to actually back them out with a screwdriver? It took ALOT of pressure to break one, I know I couldn't do it with a screwdriver. I might give it a shot, but I'll probably just have a shop do it after I pull the turbo's out. The dealership wanted $1200 to do it!!! I'll just buy newer turbos from someone for that much.

thats not paint....
Try using some vice grips on them first. If that doesn't work then drill & thread it. I had to do that to a bolt in my coolant neck... like fluxen said, it isn't that bad. Just be carefull. $1200?? damn save a little more and do a single turbo or get the stock trimmed... coated.. something

I'd LOVE to just go to any kind of single turbo, but I don't ahve the money for it unless I could finance it, ha ha. Anyway, my choice will be to find a decent set of used turbo's w/ manifold and just replace them. That'll only cost me about $500, just needs to hold out for about a year, no performance driving to speak of. THEN I'll get my single turbo kit
