Smoke!!!help!!!asap!!!
Hello guys,
I just bought my rx7 and I noticed when I start the car up it smokes from underneath the airbox. After it warms up,the smoke goes away.
What is wrong w/the car?If you have any advice please answer as soon as you can!

Perhaps you have some oil leaking from in or on your turbos, this would burn off after the cars warmed up. Seems the stock turbos are prone to leaking......Other than that only a mechanics close up inspection may pinpoint it

Thanks for the reply,
Am I in any danger of an engine fire? The car has 77,000 miles, and I really not for sure if I need to have it rebuilt or not. The car isn't a daily driver, I drive on the weekends and so on.

Mine has about the same mileage. I saw oil smoking out once and was intermitten. I refitted all the hoses close to the turbo (retighten or readjusting the hoses and clamps). Thus far, the car hasn't smoked since. I would look into the leak by checking all the hoses. This way, you don't keep on burning more oil. It's shouldn't be a big problem.
As for rebuild, I would save for it when it comes. I expect mine to run til 100-120k if I do good maint and repair things right away with good parts.
Just make sure you change oil and filter every 3k at the most and use a good filter (Mazda, not Fram).
