Looks like the black paint is already starting to flake??? what paint or coating is that motor done in??? Looks badass BTW

 

i just went from 6 to 12.

 

omg that is totallyyyyyy badass... i was planning on doing that when i got single turbo.... white and black short block and everything else blacked out.........

+1 on what u used to paint/coat that... loooks SICKKKKKKKK

 

i used just a normal, satin black brake caliper paint, said it was good to 250 deg and oil and brake fluid resistant. doesnt need to be heat cycled and cured like most heat proof paints either. brand was Septone, i think its made here in australia. its probly flaking from where i removed the tape or just lightly knocked it.

the compressor housings of the turbos (twins still unfortunately, non-seq though ) are also painted black (in a heat proof black though) as well as the heat sheilds and the y-pipe assembly is also black. IC and pipes will get the same treatment when they're done. will post up some more pics of the motor with turbos on when i get home.

P.S. the blue bits are just an acrylic metallic blue touch-up paint from a local auto store. brand was "PowerPlus"

What is the mileage on these babies?
I'm guessing they are both stock.
Awesome except both have all tan interiors. But still awesome.

 

The motor looks great, but I don't think that paint is going to hold up very well in an FD engine bay if it's only good to 250 degrees, especially anything near the turbo and exhaust manifold......

 

thats what i thought but a reputable engine builder here in aus said normal engine enamel would be fine and its only good to 150 degrees. i'm really hoping it does as i love how it looks right now, cant wait to get it in the bay!

 

Just got my FD a couple of days ago. Here is the first pic, waiting for the rest from my friend later tonight. I know it looks like I offroad, I'll be getting coilovers soon
