Unhappy Inspection problems in New Jersey, please read! -thanx-

I live in NJ and I went to get my 94 RX-7 inspected and it failed miserably on emmissions. Now I have 45 days to go back there with the emmissions fixed but I fear that this is going to be an expensive and horsepower cutting process. Is there any way to get your emmissions lower without getting a horsepower reducing exhaust or any other restrictive parts added to the car? Please respond if you have any helpful info and especially respond if you are an 3rd gen RX-7 owner in New Jersey. Thanks for reading my message.

first off how modded is your car? to pass emissions ur gonna need a working cat, airpump and acv....there are people in jersey who passed with pretty much everything else modded and just this stuff....where abt in jersey are you, theres lots of guys up north and a few of us down in the south....ur best bet is to try and find a shop that will hook u up but u will pay for the favor, but its better than the retarts at MV playin with your ride...

NJ State Inspection

Take your car to a private garage who can do the inspection for you! Its always worked for me. Hell, if that doesnt work for you give the guy a little bit more $. DO NOT take it back to state inspection go to a private inspection at a garage. I never had a problem with it.

the state has been crackin down on it, so a lot of private places are weary of passing you like that. if you can find one, hats off to you. 2-rotor what part of central nj are you from??? im from south brunswick (near princeton and new brunswick).

You haven't given us nearly enough information to go on to offer any kind of advice. What modifications do you have? What's the state of tune of your car, like when was the last time the spark plugs were changed, etc?
