To arm the alarm you have to have both hoods(front and rear) closed and then you just push down the lock on the drivers door(you'll hear a beep and the light will come on). Then get out of the car and shut the door while holding the door handle all the way up(as if you were opening the door). Then you should see the light start blinking.

If you open the door and have not taken the key out, it won't arm either, at least not in mine, what I do is make sure the door is closed and locked, turn off the car, take the key out, then you can open the door, lock it, hear the beep, and close it as above. If you don't hear the beep then it isn't armed. I think you could just close the door and using the key, lock it, and it should arm. Just look for the light to start flashing.

If I need something from the trunk, I do as above (set the alarm), and once set, pull the hatch release, that will temporarily turn the alarm off, but close the door with the handle up like usual, but when you close the hatch, the alarm will activate again and you will be set, without having to re-activate it manually.

Hope that helps.

PS same with the hood.

I found that if you lock the door outside with the key, unlock it, open and shut the door, and lock it again, it will arm. I don't lock without my keys, I have had too many times where I had to call for an auxilary key.

man, your cars are wierd. mine just requires the key to be out of the ignition and the motor to be off (which means you have to wait for the timer to count down). After those two things take place, it doesn't matter how I lock it - it arms. The hood and hatch have to be completely closed tho.

Same for me. If key is out BEFORE i open doors, it'll arm. Otherwise i gotta do the handle trick.

If I dont hear the beep when I go to push down the lock on the door pannel, I push in the door sensor on the car with my finger. Then i immediatly hear the beep. The door sensor is mounted on the car in the door frame. Its the black button that turns on the dome light when the doors are open.

Oh, I think the 93's system is different than the 94-95's.
