Question Brakes squeal while driving

Occasionally my brakes will squeal when I am just driving.
If I apply the brakes a bit it goes away, but may comeback
when I release them. There is enough
left on the brake pads to I shouldn't need to replace them.
Do I have warped disks? Is this something I need to worry
about?

It sounds like you have a sticking caliper. When was the last time you changed your brake fluid? Moisture in the brake fluid can cause corrosion which can cause the caliper to stick and not retract fully.

Are you sure you checked all your pads, inlcuding the inside set? Sounds like you are getting near the depth metering plates. Take your car to your local tire mechanic that you trust, and ask them to inspect your brakes.

I just took my car into the local mechanic to check on the same thing. He told me my brakes were just dirty and needed to be cleaned. But they still squeak.
I think he just went out hot rodding in my car, and told me that.
haha

But I am going to replace my brake fluid, and maybe take it to another brake place. My pads look good, but they always squeak when I start driving. After they get warmed up, or after a few stop lights, they quit squeaking.

My front calipers are sticking. When I let off the brakes, I can hear them still rubbing, but not enough to make any resistance. I'm going to replace all the fluids in my car anyway, what would cause that if the fluid change doesn't cure that? I want to get the upgraded brake lines also.

A fluid change won't cure a sticking caliper. Have someone who knows brakes look at it.

make sure the last person that did your brakes put that gooey **** between teh pad and the piston, that way it sticks to the piston and doesn't continue rubbing the rotor.....

EJMack1 - I think that's probably what my problem is. Since it isn't adding any pressure to the pad, just like the pad's leaning on the rotor or something. I'm going to get powerslot rotors and hawk pads soon because my pads are going to need replacing soon. I'll check it out then.
