your opinion on new setup plz.

I managed to pop my front rotor quite well and am now in the rebuild process of getting my car back on the road ASAP.

New setup:
13bt w/3mm apex seals & stage 1 street port.
BNR Stage 3 Turbo
1100cc injectors (bryan has them on hand and recommended them with the turbo upgrade) *edit* basically for the price of the cleaning and new injectors i'm 100.00 short of replacing all 4 with GReddy 720cc's which would be better?
Apex'i S-AFC
GReddy EGT P/H/W
getting my secondaries boxed up now to be sent to RC to be cleaned and flow tested.. will be my primaries in the new motor.
misc gaskets to install the motor.

What I have:
3" from the turbo back
HKS intake
Walbro pump *not installed*
FCD *not installed*

Is this a safe setup? What would you change?.. do you recommend anything different. Basically this is all being done and I hope to have the car back on the road by the end of January. notice no boost controller.. I don't know if I plan on adding on until i have a FMIC.

thanks for your opinion.

I have a thought those 1100 cc injectors will be to super sized. However, it is nice he hasa some lying around he wants to sell Check out this link for a fuel calculator.

http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=12

Since you are spending some money on your setup and getting an fuel computer you will need to tune this. I would recommend having a wideband at your disposal to tune with. If you take it to a dyno and they use one (the need to) make sure it is not a tail pipe deal. It must be before the cat and it should not be pointing at the exhaust flow. The sensor was designed to have the exhaust come accross at 90° angles.

Ok, you do not have a local dyno? Get your own wideband! This is a prebuilt kit or a DIY kit. I have the V1.0. I have yet to put the sensor in. However, that will be next week. I have built my kit and am ready to roll.

A wideband grouped with your egt will be great!

Also, when you put that Walboro in (Super easy) you should couple that with the fuel pump rewire. This will have alternator voltage staight to your fuel pump. Better than the factory wiring! Do a search for fuel pump rewire.

Good luck

no dyno near plan is extreme light driving to break the motor in and then it goes to Minneapolis to have Elite Autosports tune it (for the DSM people they do Brent Rau's car) and yes it'll be wideband tuned I want this all done right I hate fixing my own mistakes.

I'ld love to have a wideband in my car but i'm kinda strapped for cash on this project.. just after christmas and wasn't expecting a 3k rebuild out of no where. So i'm just buying the parts to make it run and to the most part run safely until I can upgrade more (FMIC, Boost controller, and maybe standalone)

thanks for the help! i appreciate it alot the next two days could be big spending money days

quick addition.. if I have them replace my stock single wire o2 sensor with the wideband will that affect the cars performance during the tuning.. I thought to the most part when you get on it the ecu goes some what close loop and goes by set values over like o2 sensor imput?

I've only seen two posts on numbers from the Stage 3 upgrade. I believe one was like 260 maybe? and the other was at like 336 @14psi. I plan on sticking it out around 8 - 9 psi until I can afford some more upgrades.

Unless you are going standalone pretty soon I say go for the 4x720cc injectors. The transition from 550 to 1100 is going to be pretty bad with the s-afc prolly. Just my thought. I am going to be getting the stage 3 with 4 720cc injectors myself sometime soon.

If you go with V1.5 (the new one) it does have a narrowband out put. So, yes you could. And the sensor (5 wire ) was designed to run 100000 miles in a Honda Civic VX so you can leave it in there provided you have the heater control powered and don't use leaded fuels.

Ok, just a thought. I noticed you said you are hurting for money.

Rebuild it your self. If you have the time it might just be an option. That is one big way to save money. Not shipping costs on an engine.

However, no warrenty. However, you would have intimate knowledge of your car.

I got the HP numbers from bryan at BNR. Stage 3 supports upwards of 340rwhp and stage 4 is 370rwhp. I didnt get at what PSI but he said it starts to drop off around 17psi.

wankel7 - ah, I'ld rebuild it myself but i know that the apex seals went through it and i'm worried my rotor housing will be shot along with the rotor and that alone is 900 or so just for those two parts.. i'm going by the judgement of what happens when something hard like that gets tossed around in a combustion chamber, usually not a pretty deal.

ahh the sweet Civic cheap wideband setup. i've seen that idea on the honda boards it's becoming quite popular. It'll be one of those things down the line but at the present moment it's just not feasable.

darkwaveboi - i hope to see numbers like that but i'm not going to expect it because i don't plan on getting boost happy.. plan being the key word.. i'll more than likely be an idiot though i figure the Stage 3 since it's only a few bills more than the Stage 2 for me.

lol, yeah on the popularity note. Those sensors are getting hard to find I am sure the demand has exceeded any planned production!
