and most piston cars don't have an oil cooler, great, i'm sure this crap will seal it solid in no time...
for every pro there is a con, remember this always.
if your engine is done, wait until you can fix it properly. keep in mind a fresh engine just might last you another 20 years.

and since it was bumped people will read it and think it's a good idea for the case that their 25 year old motor finally craps out an oil seal.
i hate dissecting projects that people dump this sort of crap into.
i deal with stupid ideas and how to fix them properly almost every day where people go on the cheap. it is more than irritating when much of my time is spent given away fixing ignorance.

want another suggestion? save up for an engine rebuild. these engines have hit their shelf life limit so if you have an original engine, time's up. everyone who still is managing to drive their original 20-25 year old engines are running on borrowed time. the main seals in these engines are simple high temp silicone, which doesn't last forever.

Bro, try and show a little respect for some of the forum veterans around here, or you'll be getting information about your car on some other forum. Because you'll be banned. Feel me bro?

parafin based lubricants just cause a huge mess to clean up during a rebuild(not to mention possibly clog up the oil injection system so the internals may not get any lubrication and wear dramatically as your sacrificial lamb). if you don't plan on using the engine or oil cooler again then feel free to use the additives.
which engine do i run? that's a stupid question if you read my signature which is just below everything i write.
anyways, cut him a little bit of slack. most everyone knows i rub everyone the wrong way sooner or later.

Not trying to be annoying but if your using a mobile device like I do sig's don't show up on the mobile site. Anyways you weren't directly talking to him, just ranting out loud that the stuff sucks, I agree. He kinda flew off the handle towards you.

The reason folks get pissy about it is they have dealt with things people do to "fix" their cars on a daily basis and now is our/their chance to say "hey, thats effin stupid, here is why, don’t do it.
Here is a nice pic for you to enjoy I feel it is relevant.

I was once told no question is stupid so my apologies for being wrong there too.. the only thing i'm seeing in your sig. is a sales pitch on engine rebuilds though.
but yea I'm not trying to **** anyone off just looking to talk cars without all the third degree
what do the prices run for the rebuilds since you seem like the right guy to ask on this subject for sure. I really can't decide if i wanna keep the 13b rotary and tune it or just swap something completely different (small block maybe?) i wish it wasn't going to be snowing in a few days so i could have a little more time with my baby

what i wrote was more for everyone to understand that to receive you often have to give in exchange. knowing that when these oil seals fail they crack into many pieces, the additives must use a filler to close the gaps, the filler obviously has other negative effects. this can't be compared to a stiff rubber oil seal that can be made pliable again, when the rubber cracks, there is no magic fix that glues it back together again without cracking the motor apart.
you can lessen smoking to an extent by playing with the viscosity of the oil, warming up the car before taking it over a set amount of RPMs or just constantly stay out of the area when it smokes. but using additives, block sealers, etc usually causes other issues.
cheapest rebuild prices from an actual shop starts at about $1400 and goes up from there, if your core engine is in decent condition.
