The n/a and TII Y pipes can be swapped, The TII is actually supposed to be larger diamiter.

The stock and racing beat Y pipes are the same regardless of motor.

Thanks guys as usual..what about a TII downpipe and cat fittin onto the stock N/A manifold...wanna "open up" the exhaust a little..(kinda thought that the TII Y-pipe was bigger diameter..just if it could be swapped.).. what the scenario is ...to take off n/a exhaust after the manifold and put on the TII exhaust...fitment issues or small weld job to attach after flanges?Call me cheap!..and please ..the Racing Beat exhaust is more than what I paid for the car!So No..I will not go there!Too stubborn (and cheap!)..replies?

As long as you still have the stock cast manifold on the car, there isn't a whole lot you can do to "open up" the exhaust. You can get some gains though. Get some better mufflers and dump the cat but at the end of the day the outlet of the stock manifold is only 2" and is a restriction in the system. A header will ultimately be the nicest thing to do. Not sure how the T-II y-pipe and mufflers compare to the n/a's as I've never had them side by side.

Over-all Diameter

Woudn't the TII exhaust have a bigger over-all diameter than an N/A? ..since the TII has more power ..thinkin a slight gain(maybe 2hp?) if switched out, and probably more "hearty" system..obviously they would be the same length.Just woud like to know if flanges are the same(same location)..or if i have to cut or extend where the old precats used to be on the TII system ,I'VE never seen the systems side by side either ..that's why I am asking.I haven't seen a TII exhaust ..period!!..entry level..N/A N/A land!..aaannnnd again!!!!

No, in fact due to the exhaust temp (which is cooled radically by a turbo) the non turbo mufflers are actually "heartier".

The only difference from the mid cats back is the mufflers on the stocjk systems.

So using a Turbo Y pipe, over a non turbo Y pipe will net you a giant gain of 0.

The main cat, the cat back Y pipe are the same... Just like the air filter is the same, the air box is the same, etc. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE in the stock system. Again the only difference is the mufflers.

QUESTION ANSWERED... "ICEMARK".. THANK YOU AND I SALUTE YOU!..I have to e-test and the system I have on right now will suffice but have made up my mind..I am going with the TII exhaust after I test..it is available to me (since everyone has gone RB!)..and will change out a piece at a time..(affordability issues)..I will get the better performance exhaust only it may take longer than "usual"..unless??..(lotto at 30 million Saturday!!!)..thanks to all that answered..misterstyx69
